Kevin Kingston was born in Texas and raised in Alabama. He began working with the Griffin two days after moving to Chicago, sweeping the stage as a Assistant Stage Manager for their 2003 production of “Picnic.” He then acted in the Jeff Award Winning production of “Angus, Thongs, and Full Frontal Snogging.” Going on to become a part of Griffin’s national touring program; he played Bradley in “There’s a Boy in the Girl’s Bathroom,” Rory in ”Romeo and Juliet are Alive and Well and Living in Maple Bend,” and the Giant in “Stinky Cheese Man.” He also directed their touring production of “Landry News” and both acts and directs in “Letters Home.” You may have also caught his appearance as Tristran Thorn in Neil Gaiman’s “Stardust” or Hibbert in “Journey’s End.” He has also had the opportunity to work with Lifeline Theatre, Grey Zelda, Free Readers Ensemble, Rogue Theatre Company, Eclipse Theatre Company, Theatre on the Lake, Writer’s Theatre, Kitchen Dog, and Junior Players of Dallas. He received his BFA in Theatre Studies with an emphasis in Directing and Performance Studies from SMU’s Meadows School of the Arts in Dallas, Texas. He is the recipient of the 2003 Garland Wright Award for Directing. He recently received his MFA in directing from the Theater School at Depaul University.
