BUILDING A HOME – “Make No Little Plans”
“Make no little plans; they have no magic to stir men’s blood and probably will themselves not be realized. Make big plans; aim high in hope and work, remembering that a noble, logical diagram once recorded will not die.”
—Daniel Burnham
Save the Date! This spring the Griffin Theatre is beginning construction on the Griffin Arts Center. We are building a home for the Griffin Theatre and a center for everyone in the neighborhood to gather and build community. To celebrate the start of construction we are holding a spring gala, BUILDING A HOME and like legendary Chicagoan Daniel Burnham we will “Make No Little Plans.” Since we will be knee deep in construction and building this spring and summer the theme of the event will center around the little toys we all enjoyed as children – Legos. Those little building blocks sparked our creativity. We snapped them together, and one by one, we built something amazing. And that is exactly what we plan to do with the new Griffin Arts Center. One person, one dollar and one block at a time we will build an amazing facility. The evening will include dinner, drinks, dancing, entertainment, silent auction and LEGOS! So we hope you will join us on May 2nd, and together build the Griffin Arts Center.
