Ellie is an actor, writer and improviser born and raised in the Chicagoland area. As the Griffin’s Company Manager she first had the pleasure of working with Griffin Theatre in 2011 on No More Dead Dogs and continued on to perform in Griffin’s national touring production of Letters Home. Most recently Ellie appeared in the Griffin’s critically acclaimed production of Men Should Weep.) Ellie is a founding member of the theatre company Buzz22 Chicago and has acted in their productions of Hooters: A Play, Quake, and She Kills Monsters (part of the 2013 Steppenwolf Theatre Garage Rep). Ellie has also performed on stage with Lifeline Theatre (Naked Mole Rat Gets Dressed), Jackalope Theatre (The Casuals), and The Second City (House Ensembles Twisty & Moxie). On screen, Ellie has appeared on ABC’s Betrayal, Screen Door’s Night of the Magician and Sam: A Fairy Tale, The Second City Network, and several commercials. In addition to acting and improvising, Ellie also enjoys casting. She has served as Buzz22 Chicago’s Casting Director since 2011 and recently cast Griffin Theatre’s production of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. In her spare time, Ellie writes various types of things that have been performed by Awkward Pause Theatre, All of Our Feelings at Once, The Second City, Buzz22 Chicago and Deerfield High School (in collaboration with Steppenwolf Theatre Company & Buzz22).
